Community Give Back (Shop n' Sip) - Our Woven Community - Thursday December 17th, 6-8 pm November 25, 2015 17:10
The weekly Community Give Back returns this Thursday (December 17th, from 6-8 pm) featuring wine cheese and holiday shopping.
This week, Hazel Daze is supporting "Our Woven Community", a program at Burroughs Community Center in Bridgeport which provides opportunities for refugee women to become more economically self-sufficient and integrated into the community.
Every Our Woven Community item is handmade by a refugee woman now living in greater Bridgeport. Each item is made from donated materials and fabrics from the local community and fabric and materials from Africa. A story card on the artist is attached to each product, which makes for a very personal connection. Products include shoulder and cosmetic bags, clutches, scarves, pillow shams and more. Each is absolutely stunning and unique!
The products these women create and sell symbolize the importance of weaving lives, cultures, and communities together and provides the artists with opportunity for creativity, community integration, and economic growth.
100% of profit from every OWC item will go directly to Our Woven Community and an added 20% of the stores profit will be donated as well.
Please join us for wine, cheese, and mindful holiday shopping, only at Hazel Daze!
